Seannika Smith

Nursing Team

Seannika Smith is a dedicated and resilient nurse with a strong background in public health, sociology, and nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, an Associate of Science in Sociology, and an Associate of Science in Nursing. Seannika’s journey in healthcare began early, as she volunteered as a candy striper and summer nursing student, later becoming a volunteer with the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career as a nurse, with plans to further her education by completing her Nurse Practitioner degree.

Seannika's professional career began in the Government of Bermuda’s Ministry of Health, where she worked as a public health educator. Her deep commitment to preventative care led her to transition into nursing, where she has since worked with Healthcare Solutions and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. She has earned recognition for her hard work and determination, receiving several prestigious scholarships, including the Knowledge Quest, Green Family, and Bermuda Nursing Council scholarships, which enabled her to continue pursuing her educational and professional dreams despite various challenges.

Among her proudest accomplishments is her role in the Bermuda Sugar Tax project and her leadership in assembling and managing the Bermuda COVID-19 response team during the pandemic. Seannika’s ability to adapt and persevere in the face of adversity has been a driving force throughout her career, and she is known for her well-rounded approach to patient care and her unwavering commitment to improving public health.

As a mother of two boys, both born prematurely, Seannika brings a personal understanding of resilience to her work. Her experiences as a mother and healthcare professional continue to inspire her dedication to both preventative care and patient advocacy.
